Description

What is it?

-This is a 50's style pre-wired Les Paul wiring harness upgrade for Gibson and Epiphone Les Paul guitars. The 50's style wiring allows you to maintain more high end and clarity with less treble loss when rolling back on the volume.

-Features Gibson 300k linear taper pots. 300k pots have a warmer tone when compared to 500k and a slightly brighter tone when compared to 250k. Some consider 300k to be the perfect balance of highs and lows. The linear taper pots produce a consistent volume/tone sweep when turning the knobs up or down.

-The "Black Bee" 0.047 uF paper in oil (PIO) capacitor is a great upgrade from standard "gumdrop" or ceramic capacitors common in many stock guitars. The Black Bee has a warm, vintage tone for a reasonable price. Likewise, it's a bit smaller in length (ca. 19 mm) than many other PIOs and fits nicely in tight control cavities.

-Hand wired with the highest quality parts and cleanest solder connections. This wiring harness will give you the clearest signal possible with even and balanced volume/tone roll off.

Ingredients

-4 x matched Gibson 300k pots. Long split shaft, 3/8" wide bushing, 3/4" long.
-2 volume 2 tone
-.047mfd Black Bee PIO capacitor
-Vintage style pull back cloth wire (7 strand 22 gauge wire for the strongest grounding connection)
-Custom aluminum shield plate to insure proper grounding and noise reduction
-Wiring diagram included

NOTE: If you are replacing the electronics on an Epiphone les paul you may need to widen the potentiometer holes on the guitar. You may also need new plastic knob covers. Most Epiphones come stock with smaller pots.
